Clachan

Clachan is a small settlement between Tarbert and Campbeltown on the west side of Kintyre.

Clachan has an old church with bell which may be of interest to people interested in unusual and old buildings. Like most places in Kintyre, Clachan has a superb community spirit and regularly holds events as a community with Clachan Calamities pantimime groups putting on shows annually.

Further south from Clachan by only a couple of miles is 'Seal Point' where you can see seals bathing and swimming at the nearby rocks.

Clachan also has a filling station with unleaded and deisel pumps. The nearest super unleaded pump is in Lochgilphead, there is no Super unleaded fuel in Kintyre!

Helping Promote Local Food & Produce

Kintyre has a prominent agricultural and farming industry, producing grains, vegetables and livestock for use and consumption both locally and further afield. Kintyre really does produce some fine fresh and unpolluted produce available to buy from local butchers and bakers, or alternatively can be purchased direct from farmers and producers throughout the peninsula.

Some producers such as Ifferdale Farm near Carradale can also deliver their produce fresh to your door if you live locally.

For more producer information please visit our food producer section here.
