Westport is not really an inhabited place on Kintyre, although there is a single house there.
Westport is where the road comes in land from being a coastal road around five miles north of Campbeltown.
As you would have found out in the beaches section, Westport is a section of beach with a sizeable car park where many people travel to practise surfing in rideable waves.

Kintyre is a popular destination for golfers to play some challenging courses from the small bunker free 9 hole course of Tarbert, to the superb Championship 18 hole links course at Machrihanish. Kintyre golf courses are also close together so you may be able to play more than one in a day, 18 holes before lunch and 18 after.

Kintyre has a prominent agricultural and farming industry, producing grains, vegetables and livestock for use and consumption both locally and further afield. Kintyre really does produce some fine fresh and unpolluted produce available to buy from local butchers and bakers, or alternatively can be purchased direct from farmers and producers throughout the peninsula.
Some producers such as Ifferdale Farm near Carradale can also deliver their produce fresh to your door if you live locally.
