Argyll is highly regarded as having a large distinctive selection of private and public gardens. A couple of gardens in Kintyre exist.

Stonefield Castle

A mile north of Kintyre, just outside Tarbert is Stonefield Castle Hotel where there are some superb specimin of plant with a short walk out across to a small island with water either side.

Achamore Gardens

This 50 acre garden on the Isle Of Gigha consists of natural woodland and contains a large walled garden, and a selection of colourful and interesting species. Entry to the gardens is payment in the honesty box provided.

The gardens at Achamore are in the grounds of Achamore House, a baronial mansion built in 1884. Achamore has eleven bedrooms to offer as bed and breakfast accommodation.
